I loved the Brazilian Open because of the location, the people and the energy. Fortaleza and the surrounding area have some of the most beautiful beaches and I loved the warm weather. The people are very warm and welcoming, I felt like family. The best part of the event is the energy that is created by a large group of people who are excited to be there, learn, grow and share their dance with each other. Well, that and the two fresh coconuts I drank every day!

This event is much more than a West Coast Swing event. It's family, love, support, culture, laughter, energy and relaxation, all in one. The staff is amazing to work with and learn from, and the dancers are attentive, mentoring and extremely talented. This community welcomed me like no community has ever done - with open arms, warm smiles and lots of cachaça! The Brazilian Open is an event that you will never want to stop enjoying! If you haven't been, you can't miss this year!

I was a member of the team, DJ, for the first Brazilian Open, reporting to Jessica Pacheco, event director. I found the Brazilian community very gracious, hospitable and very friendly. I had a wonderful time and would recommend this event to any dancer. You will have a lot of fun!
Craig Jackson, Dallas - EUA
The Brazilian Open is a special event. The dancers are very musical and super friendly. About 40% of the dancers speak English and are happy to translate for you. So, don't think you need to speak Portuguese to participate. The event team is incredible and organized. They will help you connect with Brazilian dancers if you need rides or share an Uber to get to know the city. If you are coming from the USA, the exchange rate is very good. It was 4-1 last year. Your air ticket will be the most expensive part of the trip. The BR Open is one of the best events I attended. It is a really great dance event with a mini-vacation next to it.
